Children are full rate. We welcome families with children 8 years and older. Please contact us before booking if you are traveling with children under 8 years old.
The Fine Print - Please Read!

Check-in/out times are specific and depend on existing bookings at the time your reservation is made. A confirmation email with your specific check-in and check-out times will be emailed to you. This confirmation email will also include details about where to park and recommended things to bring. The boat ride is about 45 minutes each way.
Check-In Time to meet our boat in the Seward Harbor will be either 10:00am or 12:00pm
Check-Out Time from your yurt will be either 8:30am to have you back in the Seward Harbor at about 9:15am, or 11:00am to have you back in the Seward Harbor just before noon
We first fill our 10:00am check-in boat and then open up the 12:00pm check-in boat as needed for additional guests. If you require the 12:00pm check-in boat we can likely accommodate you even if the 10:00am boat has not been filled for that day. However, there may be an additional $75 per person fee to cover captain costs, boat fuel, and boat maintenance costs if your 12:00pm check-in creates an additional, otherwise unnecessary round trip with the boat.
Feel free to inquire before booking about what your check-in/out times would be for a specific date. We are knowledgeable in Alaska travel logistics and are happy to answer any questions you may have!
While planning activities following check-out, please give yourself an extra 1-2 hours of flexibility. Shearwater Cove is a remote location that is only accessible by boat, and weather conditions may delay or slow the ride back to Seward. Give yourself an extra hour or two of time to transition into your next activity/destination so that in the case of delay you do not miss your next activity or stress about time. Much of the beauty and awesome experience of Shearwater Cove is due to its being physically removed from the fast pace of our modern world. Please remember that travel time to and from these types of places can vary because of that wonderful quality.
-Cancellation Policy-
Due to our short operating season we have a strict cancellation policy. We are not able to make ANY exceptions to this cancellation policy. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance. One option is travelinsurance.com.
Cancellation within:
0-30 days from trip date - no refund
31-60 days from trip date - 50% refund
61 days or more from trip date - full refund minus 100$ processing fee
Guests that are 30+ minutes late for their check-in time forfeit their stay and will not be refunded. Please call us if you are running late!
-reservation policies-
Date Change Requests: Requests for date changes to an existing reservation are accommodated based on how far in advance they are requested:
If requested 61 days or more from the check-in date, date changes will be accepted as long as the new dates are available.
If requested 31 to 60 days prior to the check-in date, date changes will be accepted as long as the new dates are available with a $300 date change fee.
Date change requests made 30 days or less prior to the check-in date will not be accepted as this is essentially a cancellation of the original nights which have little guarantee of being rebooked in such a short time frame.
Guest Add-Ons: Requests to add people to an existing reservation are guaranteed if made 2 or more weeks in advance of the check-in date. We will do our best to accommodate last minute requests to add more people to a reservation, but it is not guaranteed if the request is made less than 2 weeks from the check-in date.

No smoking (tobacco or marijuana) in the yurts. Be respectful of non-smoking guests.
Quiet hours are from 10:00pm to 8:00am.
-weather Considerations-
Shearwater Cove is located in Resurrection Bay which is a large ocean bay. Heavy wind and waves have the potential to delay boat travel. Luckily Shearwater Cove is well protected from most inclement sea states, so the chance of a weather delay is small. We closely monitor the weather and will notify you in advance if it seems there is a chance that your trip may be delayed. These considerations pertain to wind and sea state only. Trips will not be cancelled due to rain.
